Quick Start Guide to Using the Map

Once you get going, posting on the map is easy. However, it's also easy to make a mistake the first time you try, and post your favourite pub in the middle of the atlantic ocean - so please please please read these simple instructions before starting!

1. Get Comfortable

First, before you press 'add a place' or 'my map', roam around the map to get a feel of how to use it. Use the slider bar to zoom in and out, and the mouse to 'drag' the map up and down and sideways. Find a familiar spot in the world. When you are comfortable using it down to street level, then you are ready to post.

2. Login

Find the exact spot where you want to post something. Click 'Add a place', the link just above the map. You will be asked to log in - choose an easy to remember username and password and supply an email address (safe with us, we promise!) - and we will send an email so you have these log-in details in writing.

3. Post a Marker

Drag and zoom some more if you need, but when you are ready to post, click your mouse on EXACTLY THE SPOT you want to post. A screen will pop-up - add title and description, press 'next', and categorise and add tags as necessary - ie restaurant, view, museum, gourmet etc - whatever you want. Press finish.

4. Add Images, Vote and Edit

The next screen allows you to upload images and vote, but you can ignore this if you have nothing further to add. However, you can press DELETE at the top of this screen if you have made a mistake, and start again. Or EDIT to change your description.

5. Post Some More

Post some more! For further information on the full range of stuff you can do on this map, and how to find other people's postings and TI postings, read our detailed instructions. Now you have digested this ... GO TO THE MAP!
