By TI Reviewer Katie Thomas:
The Bingham, set in scenic Richmond upon Thames, is the perfect boutique hotel for a relaxing retreat just outside London. Originally a Georgian townhouse, the Bingham boasts sleek sophistication in its historic facade, and provides all modern conveniences within its stately walls.
The facilities
This boutique hotel is very popular amongst newly-weds, and is renowned for its special wedding accomodation. Its two Garden Rooms frequently host pre-nuptials, and there are tailored spa treatments on offer in the run-up to the big day too. The in-room Bliss Indulgence, available to all guests, includes therapies like cleansing reiki, Indian head massages, Japanese facials, as well as manicures and pedicures. Yoga classes are also offered every Monday evening.
The Bingham's acclaimed restaurant serves a delicious breakfast of fruit and pastries. Lunch and dinner are heavily influenced by fresh, local produce, owing much to head chef Shay Cooper's history of excellence in the field. He has worked at several Michelin –starred restaurants, as well as Hotel Endsleigh in Devon. The restaurant also boasts an extensive cheese menu and a seven page wine list. The restaurant also boasts an extensive cheese menu and a seven page wine list and is popular with the locals as well as guests.
While the Bingham's restaurant is golden, the glamourous bar area shines in silver with metallic walls and a massive mirror. The 24-hour cocktail bar doubles as a sleek art deco-inspired lobby area, with sky high ceilings, leather couches, and plenty of space to read magazines, mingle with other guests and enjoy view across the Thames.
The rooms
The Bingham has 15 individually designed rooms, categorised as either River Design or Superior Design. Each provides bathrobes and slippers, well-stocked minibars, professional hairdryers, goose-down comforters and pillows, iPod speaker systems, WiFi, coffee and tea making facilities, flat screen TVs and rain shower-heads. There is also a family suite which features a huge bathroom with a conveniently separate walk-in shower and bath tub.

Eating in
The prime position is on the balcony - best in summer, but as it's covered and heated you can eat the modern European fare all year round. The bar - in a very handsome, soaring-ceilinged Georgian room - is relaxed and quiet.
